David Fontaine, Instructor

Dave Fontaine works as an Internet Librarian & Information Specialist for the Middletown School Department. His day is spent instructing teachers and students on the most efficient ways to access reliable information. Along with teaching Information Literacy to the students, he also instructs teachers through embedded mini-workshops throughout the school day.

Additionally, Dave works as an online instructor for the University of Rhode Island’s School of Education. There he teaches school librarians and teachers, from around the nation, how to navigate through the Internet, while modeling how to integrate technology into the classrooms. Some of the online, graduate-level courses that he teaches are: “Harnessing the Power of the Internet for Teaching and Learning,” and “Using Blogs and Wikis to Foster Literacy” and most recently, "Online Texts in the 21st Century Classroom.
