 Theresa Stanley, InstructorTheresa Stanley is an academic librarian at Pima Community College in Tucson Arizona. She loves working with students, assisting them in locating the information they need, whether for classes or personal use, building on their existing skills to develop a deeper knowledge and skills that will assist them throughout their lives. She serves on several committees, including the District’s Academic Technical Standards and her campus’s Title V working group. She also initiated the college’s first Sandbox program, allowing for instructors and students to come and “play” with technology. Theresa is working on her doctorate degree in Educational Technology and Leadership at Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology. Her research interests include social networking, technology education, Web 2.0, First Amendment rights and academic library websites. Prior to joining Pima Community College, Theresa was a teen librarian with the Pima County Public Library (PCPL). With grant money, she purchased several video systems and introduced video games to PCPL. The program designed for teens soon became a multigenerational program, with players from 6-88 years of age playing together. Theresa earned her Master’s in Library Science at the University of Arizona’s School of Information Resources and Library Science and her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Visual Communication from the University of Arizona’s School of Art. Theresa is originally from Sandusky Ohio, where she met her husband, Cal. They have been married 31 years and have four grown sons and one granddaughter, Clara. Theresa and her husband enjoy traveling and playing with technology.
